Kiffin joined the University of Southern California (USC) staff in 2001 as a tight ends coach and became the wide receivers coach in 2002. In 2004, he added the duties of passing game coordinator and was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2005. Kiffin also took the reins as recruiting coordinator that year, after offensive coordinator Norm Chow left USC for the same position with the NFL's Tennessee Titans. Along with these duties, Kiffin continued as the wide receivers coach.

He was a QB coach, then I think he was co-OCs with Sarkisian.

I think. I'm not sure though.

Common misconception. Sark took over the OC duties after Kiffin left for Oakland.

I may be wrong but did't Sark take the Raider Job and after a day or two he changed his mind and
went back to USC and Kiffen entered the scene and
was named head coach?

Sark considered the Raiders job, took one look at Weird Al Davis and said "F'ck it, it ain't worth the money". Then he went back to SC and told Lane Kiffin about it.

Lane says, my smokin' hot wife is killing me with this QVC shite, I better take that job.

So he did.
