Sports Animal in Knoxville just threw his name out there. If not Cutcliff, he might be a fallback candidate. Ties to Saban credited.

Dooley is a young coach and I think would be a great hire. IMHO

I think Dooley is a better hire than Cutt. But Cutt is the safer hire.

He and Muschamp are boys. Muschamp is the one that brought his name up for LTU when he talked to them about their vacancy a few years ago. He probably did the same for UT.

Dooley could double as the AD.

Dooley will coach a major program one day. If Les doesn't perform, he will be in the mix for the LSU job.

He needs to get his coaching record above .500 first.

I concur, but I think he is biding his time until the right job comes along. He is also one of the few if not the only AD-HC in FBS football.

He has a good gig at Tech and should prove himself there. If nothing else he could be gunning for a future job as AD of a major sports institution.

My guess is he would like LSU or UGA.

Derek and Jags must be in a contest on who can get their name out there the most. Agents must be doing the job. Jags was a Ga at LSU and Derek was on Saban's knee. Both smart guys! Not to mention...their good looks.

Dooley's an up and comer but I think I'd give him a few more years at Tech.

he's a good coach, I'm just not sure he's ready yet.

NBC channel in Shreveport just reported Tech confirmed he was talking to the Vols about the job.

Hiring Dooley is a better hire than Kiffin. Dooley has integrity. Kiffin doesn't even have that word in his Vocabulary.

Dooley would be a great coach.

Agree with this. Dooley is many times the man Kiffin is. To date, I don't understand the Kiffin hire.

Dooley would be a risk with limited success at the HC position. However, he has the pedigree (Vince), and the tutoring of Saban at LSU and the Dolphins(ouch!), but he sure in the hell outcoached Les in Tiger Stadium this year.
