La Tech: does Cumbie get another year?

He's gone from on the ropes last year to bowl eligible with one more win.

He should have been fired after this past Saturday's game. If he isn't fired in 2 1/2 weeks then my alma mater has more problems than I thought. Since he was hired, we have a new President & new AD. He was supposed to be fired after last year, but we didn't have enough for the buyout. With what he has done to the program there should be no way he gets a new contract.

I think he gets one more year if he gets to a bowl but you have seen his ceiling as a coach. Unless he tears up CUSA or SBC (whichever conference they play next year), which I doubt, he is done when contract ends. Watching them play - there is a huge coaching and talent gap from when Skip Holtz was there.

They should have held on to Holtz. I think Cumbie got to Tech at a terrible time. Portal/NIL just kicked off, and it took a while for people to figure out. I feel like if he gets 6 or 7 wins they hold on to him. He’s got to stop losing these type of games so often though.

$1.5 mil. buyout. Very doable, but with so many terminations this year I’d wait and see what happens next year.
