so-called list. I don't like this hire one bit.

When you have guys like Tenuta, Bumpas, Chavis, and Robinson out there I don't understand why we have to "cheap out" on this hire. We should demand excellence and try to get the absolutely best possible candidate for each and every position.

I haven't seen anything on this guy's resume to make me believe he is a truly elite defensive mind.

What the hell has Bumpas done that makes the Rant so obsessed with him?

Tenuta is overrated, btw. He's good but he's not the be-all-end-all that people here hype him up as being..Georgia Tech didn't really miss him this year.

Bumpas did work hand in hand as Co-DC's with one Bradley Dale Pevito. Top that Koenning backers.

The rank used google and looked up defensive rankings and then fell in love with Bumpas knowing nothing about him or his style

PLUS HE HAS A COOL NAME

Don't really know much about Koenning, but I personally like Chavis and Tenuta because of their aggressiveness. Koenning might be similiar to them, but from what other posters have said, be runs a system like what we have now as far as blitzing and coverage. He is just a better coach than Mallory and BDP.

Agreed. That's a strange statement.

Bumpas isn't even being considered.

Chavis really isn't known for agressiveness. He is a solid scheme guy, but not aggressive.

Somebody posted that Chavis was known for his aggressiveness. See page 8 of the "Suggestions for New DC" thread.

He's closer to Pelini than to Muschamp.

Solid x's and o's, breaking down film, scheming, etc. but not a constant pressure guy like Tenuta.
