Depends on the situation. I think there are differences between having co-coordinators on the offensive side of the ball and the defensive side of the ball. Didn't work well for us in 2008 on defense, but it has worked quite well for OU and TCU the past few years. Those are the only situations I can think of off the top of my head.

I think Kiffin and Sark could be a hell of a duo to have as co-coordinators since their relationship goes way back and they've worked together for a long time.
