Agreed. And it's a risk LSU doesn't have to take. Why in this world would you gamble on such a shaky long term investment when you have a world of options that are far superior? Sorry, it's not enough for me to have a guy who speaks Cajun and entertains the fans. We already had a court jester as head coach and it took forever to get him out. Can you imagine how entrenched O would be if he ever took over? No thanks, I want better. I want a coach who can challenge Bama for the top program in the nation. LSU under O is second place at best and that's if he continues to have great coordinators which is no given. LSU needs to act like a powerhouse and not even consider this nonsense.

I just wonder what OC options would he even have?

Coach O was born and raised in Larose, not Golden Meadow. Your aunt was wrong.

With Jimbo or Aranda, you trust one side of the ball is taken care of. Even if O is hiring great coordinators (which I believe guys would want to work for him), it's still so much exposure having to replace them every few years assuming guys get HC offers down the road. That in itself doesn't feel like a sustainable long term model, yet it's exactly what O would be relying upon.
This is my biggest concern with O as well. I want a guy that consistently handles either the O or D, but preferably the Offensive, since thats what weve been lacking.
It's really simple. It's much easier to hire 1 good coordinator than it is 2.
