Ole Miss, who lost offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby to Oklahoma on Wednesday. On a podcast from Rebels247, publisher David Johnson and analyst Chris Brooks discussed who head coach Lane Kiffin should replace Lebby with, starting with former LSU assistant and Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady.
“Everybody knows what happened with Joe Brady and LSU, and was recently just let go in the NFL, but hey, that year at LSU was the most prolific offense in the history of college football, statistically,” Brooks said. “So, you know, you’re seeing his name — look, David, his name was popping up — I want to say I read this from your notes — his name popped up at Oklahoma a little bit yesterday, too, did it not? …He’s everywhere because every fan base wants him.”

If Brady goes to OM and flips credit for a Lane Kiffin offense into a HC job this guy really is into some Machiavellian shite

Ole Miss will hire whoever they think can reel in Arch Manning. So they’ll probably let the Mannings choose the hire.

Brady worked with receivers not QBs at lsu. He didn’t call plays, Ensminger did. He got credit for a lot of improvements which he should have. Why didn’t he work out at Carolina with really good quarterbacks and receivers?
In all probability he should have a good future after working under a good HC and OC and getting more experience.

His title was “Passing Game Coordinator”

Ensminger called plays in 2018, would you say there was a somewhat notable difference in the offensive efficiency/tempo/play calling between that year and the 2019 season?

The Panthers offense is Christian McCafferey, ownership has made that clear with his contract so make no mistake about it.
Add in the fact that his head coach in Rhule just promoted his former OC to fill Brady’s position and voila!
I’ll say again what I’ve always said, Joe Brady was not ready for the position he got after 2019.. staying at LSU could have done him a lot of good. But don’t mistake this as him being a bad coach or somehow losing all that he brought to the table just 2 seasons ago.

You really think Joe Brady is going to take an OC job at Ole Miss where Kiffin is the Head Coach and OC.

I gave him credit for what he brought to the team.
Burreaux showed steady improvement thru the 2018 season. Watch the Georgia and uCF game highlights. That with everything falling together with Bradys and other coaches and players gave us 19. Team effort not just Brady

Joe Brady would be twice the HC coach of Matt Rhule. He was calling him out for being dumb. Thus the reason Matt fired him. That dude will be fired next year... Maybe not though I'm perfectly fine with panthers sucking in perpetuity

Actually Joe Brady at ole miss makes a lot of sense. He's a good offensive mind but it would seem he's a bit too green and lacks experience to make a go of it on his own. Running under kiffin could probably make up for those deficiencies. On one hand a kiffin team is pretty much guaranteed to be heavy on offense so maybe that hurts the credit he would get. On the other he'd be bound to put up stats and that can't hurt a résumé.
In any case, I don't want him there, but I could see it.

Let me help you with that....

No Brady No Natty.....everyone needs to get a grip on that reality.
I hope he comes back to LSU. Rhule was the problem at Carolina, and JB was the scape goat..make no mistake about that.
If goes to another SEC team, LSU will be very sorry!

At what point this year have the Panthers had ‘really good quarterbacks’?

Brady + Kiffin seems like a match made in hell. I’m all for it. Those two sound less like lightning in a bottle and more like a turd in a punch bowl.
