You don’t fire Miles two months early to hire your defensive line coach.

Alleva totally mishandled the coaching search last year, and deserves to be fired for that alone. But in all fairness, I think we have F. King Alexander to blame for not getting Jimbo Fisher at the end of the 2015 season. Apparently, Alleva had gotten Fisher to agree verbally to a deal only to have F. King nix it.

True. Why Alleva didn't just take a step back and pull out the list and go to the next best candidate and so on is beyond me. I guess Alleva's temper got the better of him and he just threw up his hands in defeat after Hermann spurned LSU for Texas.

Only criticism I have of him is not firing les about 4 games earlier. He went after jimbo and Herman didn’t get them then went to coach O. Can’t blame him for anything on that. Was I sold on coach O not really but I figured what the hell at least it’s a change and honestly I enjoyed this year more than any in awhile. Will see how next year goes and the years following. I think lsu was on a step down hill slope for about 2 years before les was fired. I still expect times to get a little worse before they get much better mainly because the back to back years of tension did hurt recruiting some.

In all honesty I'm glad Jimbo Fisher didn't come to LSU. I am not a fan of his. Yes he once coached at LSU, but his offenses weren't super awesome. He walked into a tradition rich program and handed the reins by Bobby Dowden. The cupboards were not bare. Much like when Saban left LSU and Miles walked in to stocked cupboards. Miles just consistently won games, but was never creative enough with his offenses to please the masses here. Short of Nick Saban coming back, I don't think anyone would please the masses here.
