Fickell is another Riley. If we didn't have him locked up by last night, we're way behind the curve. Very risky, unlikely, and such a longshot that it's extremely worrisome at this point to consider him if he's not already 100% committed.
Cristobal has no track record of success whatsoever.
He finally has a 2nd 10-win regular season. His last one was after mishandling Justin Herbert completely. Herbert is a generational QB talent and Cristobal fricked him up so much he looked like a definite bust coming out.
You have to literally try to coach offense (which is his side of the ball) so badly you make Herbert look bad. That's what OU did in their signature year. SUCCESS!
This year? He's lost to Stanford and Utah. SUCCESS!

Didn't get Riley, never considered Napier (and we have to play him yearly, good job, Scott!), not even Stoops wants to come here.

Will never leave Ohio and/or the Midwest to coach at LSU.
The only reason I see the announcement going past the next couple days is if he is going after an NFL coach. He had 2 months to negotiate and I think he has is reeling in a big fish.
