A lot of you don't want to believe it, but A&M is on the verge of overtaking LSU as the second best team in the West. Honestly, it's probably already happened. You think that Jimbo has A&M trending down and nothing could be further from the truth. They are ranked, getting better, and poised to start making even more noise moving forward. They are beating LSU head-to-head in recruiting right now, have more head-to-head victories over LSU on the field recently, and have committed to spending as much money as necessary to compete with any school in the nation.

The demise of Florida State's program was because they refused to keep up with the Clemsons of the world when it came to booster support of the program. A&M has the deep pockets that FSU doesn't, and Jimbo is taking full advantage of that right now. There's even the possibility that Jimbo might not want to come to LSU because the A&M program is rolling right now. The losses to Arkansas and Miss State will be shortly forgotten when they finish the season with 8-10 wins, including a victory over Bama, and possibly another victory over LSU to cap the regular season.

Jimbo to LSU would kill two birds with one stone: LSU gets a top notch coach and A&M potentially gets knocked down a peg or two in the order of the West. Short term, a Jimbo hire would probably get LSU competitive again very quickly, and you could expect a physical brand of football based around running the ball and playing good defense. You see now that he's established himself at A&M, he's now pulling 5* QB's and in the running for elite defenders like Walter Nolen, Harold Perkins, Jacoby Matthews, and Bear Alexander among others. Jimbo hire would possibly even salvage this recruiting cycle.

The Woodward and LSU connection simply can't be ignored, and to do so would be foolish. A&M is hitting on all cylinders right now, has a strong defense, commitment to running the football, and a young QB who is starting to play with some confidence. A&M is building a potential powerhouse with Jimbo leading the way, and LSU would do well to have him take over the program.

Just as a sidenote, I've never been a fan of Jimbo in the past. I thought his offense was outdated and didn't want him during the last coaching search. But I'm an objective person, and I see the potential of what Jimbo is doing right now at A&M and can see they could end up being a serious problem in the West moving forward. Jimbo is far from the perfect coach, but I think a lot of people are overblowing the early season losses to Arkansas and Miss State, this is not a team that's falling apart at the seams.

Last four recruiting cycles for A&M by the way

2019: 4th
2020: 6th
2021: 8th
2022: poised to finish top 5

A&M is a program on the rise, not on the decline, and you need to take a look at the overall state of their program before you go dismissing what Jimbo has done over there. They absolutely DO NOT want to lose Jimbo to LSU, which tells you everything. They are scared of losing him to their West rival and blowing up what he's built so far.

Jimbo is a cuck and a known furry. We don't want that degenerate anywhere near our program.

Eta: don't believe me? Peep this, downvoters.

NO TO JIMBO.

He’s not worth what A&M is paying him and he’s definitely not worth what he’d want from LSU. That and he is simply not that good.

NO. I cannot wait for this search to be over so Jimbo’s name will stop coming up here.

Would be great hire for A&M. Would get rid of that oversized contract he has.

Literally none of this is true aside from A&M burning through money like crackheads for mediocre results. It amazes me how reactionary some of y’all are. Jimbo saved his job by beating Alabama just like Sumlin did, but the problems are still there. A&M has looked like shite all season and Alabama played a historically bad game under Saban. They’re not good, and Jimbo is incredibly over the hill

Jimbo has received so many gifts from Aggies.

Let the man enjoy his spoils.
