In four years if it doesn’t work out we will owe Jimbo $40 million. Last year our AD had over $190 million in revenues. We got this.

That's a huge gamble. I can't imagine what his buyout is. I think he's a solid coach but definitely not worth the likely insane numbers you'll be seeing. You really have to question just how good he is outside those 3 years with Winston. If they end up being mediocre under him they're going to be stuck with Fisher for years.

Worth it - say he wins nine on average. Raises recruiting profile, talent increase, and he gets to forge his legacy at A&M.

We spent a ton on infrastructure - now need the coach. And he’s younger than Sumlin

Sumlin averaged 8.5 wins/year since Texas A&M joined the SEC. So to A&M, an extra win every 2 years is worth $2.5 mil/year more.

They hired a guy who just finished a losing season at that.

Jimbo isn't worth nearly that kind of money or FSU would have paid it

same out of touch weird Aggy arrogance as when y’all hired Chavis. Do you think any top-tier coach is going to want to leave a quality job and touch A&M’s program if a guy who’s supposedly worth $75,000,000 can’t succeed there? There are several kinda big implications with the amount that y’all dropped on Jimbo whether he’s worth it or not. Y’all aren’t nearly as rich as you think you are and a $40MM buyout along with optics would absolutely prevent you from giving out another “frick you money” contract. It was pretty retarded to blow your one shot on Jimbo “I haven’t been successful since my personal life became a complete disaster” Fisher but again, keep laughing until y’all end up with Major Applewhite as your HC in 5 years.

A&M gives zero fricks and wants to win.

meanwhile our AD can't even negotiate properly.

A&M obviously doesn't give a shite about the money.

he doesn't work out they buy him out.

at least they had the balls to throw their hat in the ring.

When they're on the hook for 20 million or more plus having to pay another coach 8 million, you think they will care?

The people I would most like to see coaching LSU are in the same division with LSU... just great.

Exactly if O fails u find a young offensive mind like a Scott Frost. They’re out there and about half of what a&m will pay Jimbo

I agree. A&M are chumps for paying that much, if true.

I don’t get the fascination with Jimbo. He’s won 1 NC. Went to another playoff and lost in semis. Took advantage of a down ACC. Miami was down. Clemson came into the picture later. His offenses are predictable.

Good recruiter in a talent rich state.

He’s done a good job. Not spectacular.

He’s not worth that much if Les Miles isn’t worth that much.
