Jimbo (hypothetically) isn’t exciting but will bring stability back

The trenches will be fixed, much better coordinators with actual positional coaching vs just cheerleading kids to overpeform. His offensive scheme is a bit dated but he’s overall a big time coach. Not the worst hire for LSU (if it happens). Maybe a safer hire than a Napier or Tucker.

The QB room would become a dumpster fire.

Jimbo is an excellent QB coach. What he got out of Mond was impressive.

Dumpster fire is a bit strong, but I agree with the sentiment. He's done a terrible job with the QB room at A&M.

His QB success is dated though. I could see him do well with Nuss.

Will probably not make the playoffs moving forward now

That's debatable. Mond was never much more than serviceable.
Bigger question was, Why was he unable to upgrade over Kellen Mond? He never brought in anyone to seriously compete with him for the job even though Mond was clearly barely adequate.

I mean nobody knows for sure. He did build FSU to that point but we also know A&M have some inherent limitations.

In fairness, Fisher lost his starting highly ranked qb in the very beginning of the season, turned the current kid from a guy who didn't appear to know how to throw a football into a guy who carved up Bama, and has top ranked QBs committed in upcoming classes.

Then it's good we have 3 guys that can start

He rode Mond to a #4 ranking and turned Mond into a 3rd round draft pick. If Mond is as bad as you say, then that is pretty damn impressive.

Why was his QB room going into year 4 a skinny redshirt freshman and a guy who didn't appear to know how to throw a football?

Mond was nothing more than serviceable. Their team success was mostly due to their defense, running game and probably the best offensive line in football.

Mond set many A&M passing records.

Look up Mond’s stats last year and get back to me.
I've seen his stats. I've also seen him play.

Mond was the #3 Dual Threat QB in the country coming out of High School and was never anything more than a serviceable SEC QB. He never was impressive in any big games.

A shite job of recruiting the position no doubt. Haynes King looked fricking awful throwing the ball in high school. I guess Jimbo felt he could coach him up
Has the No. 2 QB prospect currently committed, and Holstein committed for the year after

He's had every opportunity at TAMU and has been utterly mediocre there. What's going to change at LSU?

He definitely appears to be a better job for the 2022 and 2023 classes. Not sure where that was in his first 4 years there though. I might be missing one, but the QBs he's recruited so far have been James Foster, Zach Calzada and Haynes King. Woof

Well he beat Bama with a backup QB....
