Been out of the game for a bit. Had a consulting role at Washington but now close to becoming Fresno's HC. Pretty good hire. One of the top West Coast offense guys in CFB. Probably in the NFL as well

it seemed that kiffin was a "lock" for this job. hmmmmmmmmmmmm

I'm worried. Our offense took a huge jump this year with Tedford as a consultant. I'm hoping he wasn't the complete reason.

This changes things quite a bit now. hmm

he's implying that there's a better shot for Orgeron to hire Kiffin since this was seen as Lane's best shot at a head coaching gig. Frankly, I'm not buying that Kiffin would make a lateral position move from Bama to LSU just to work for Orgeron

I thought Kiffin would return to his alma mater. That's all

I agree and disagree. I'm with you on the fact that I don't see Kiffin making a lateral move either.

I don't want Kiffin as the OC. My main reason is that O and Kiffin have a personal friendship. If it all goes wrong, i think O would go down with the ship rather than fire his friend. Sort of like Miles and Cam.

That's actually a very good point. Unfortunately, like every other job, politics will play a huge role into whether you get it or not. But I'm with you, if Plan A Jimbo doesn't line up, I would tell Alleva to tread softly when considering O and Kiffin being on the same staff.

I disagree. Two failed head coaches are better than one, right? That's just math. No denying those solid facts.
In math, we call this the "Orgeron Theorem". To begin, you take O's losses and remove them all from the equation (be sure you don't forget Bama. that one definitely doesn't count). Then you take out all of Kiffin's sanctions/underhanded activities, as well. Add their wins up and boom! The "Orgeron Theorem" produces success every time!

If you can present this in a Cajun accent, it's perfect. I'm sold.

Fresneck is Tedford's alma mater too, and likely his final job. Kiffin would leave at the first chance that's decent.
