No luck against Meyer and Saban so far

Saban, the offensive genius? Is Saban really matching offensive wits with Chavis?

As to the Meyer deal, they've played them 4 times:

2005: 17 points
2006: 21 points
2007: 45 points
2008: 23 points

I'd consider 17,21,23 points as having decent success against a tough offense with players as talented or more than yours. One very bad game.

I'm really happy with this hire. There's still rumors Ed Orgeron is coming as the d-line coach, which would also be outstanding. To be honest, Chavis is the guy I wanted, as I've always been impressed with UT's defense. More to come, I'm sure.

Is there a "new age" DC out there that has the blueprint to stop these high powered offenses?

If there is, you may want to alert college football.

Both Utah and Boise St. have accomplished offenses and TCU (within the same talent-grade as them) did a great job of stopping them. And they did a respectable job against OU, (a whole "pay-grade" above TCU in talent) - forced'em to punt nine times but just gave up too many big plays.

Hey CharlesLSU

You feel good about that prediction

I been chatting with Vol fans, they are pretty confident the DC in future gig/title will get him in Vol land

The don't believe the 900k offer rumor however

....it wasn't a prediction....I've been droppin hints on here about O for a while. While I don't know near as much as below, I get a few nuts here and there.

I was hearing hard info on Chavis, then it got hazy.....even those close were put in a fog. I then got word of some Walker contact, but with Chavis talk being mysteriously shrouded, I kept my Chavis hunch.
