Well here goes let me see if I can get this right on the first try. what I have been told is he was courted heavily at first and made it known that he was going to listen and inform that he had no intentions of leaving because he liked where he was at. The money was a non issue in this situation as well as the length of the contract. The rumors of Les to Michigan or at least interested in Michigan were somewhat valid but they appeared to be just a thought. From what Les told him he was not going anywhere but there was other speculation amongst other coaches. When his contract extension was being negotiated the idea that Les could be gone before his contract expired was brought up and from what I understand he was less than pleased with the response from Allevas end. I was told that the lateral move was not one he initially anticipated on making. The past prior month he was out recruiting with no thought of being anywhere else but here. When his displeasure of how Alleva was handling his situation became known to Alleva that is when the wheels started to come off. Further conversations Ensued and the gap of agreement between the two parties became further and further apart. At that point both parties started demanding certain guarantees on both ends. Now from what I understood CLM went to bat for him more than once and tried to patch the bridge per-say. To no avail the situation got left stalemate between those two and then it was suggested by people above CLMs pay grade that Chavis should look else where for a job because he was no longer wanted here based off of his defenses performance as of late; but they left the contract on the table to save face from what I understood. They did so knowing that the situation was beyond repair so no harm no foul. He was going to inform the players he was leaving privately but somehow it got leaked to a few then he had to address it before the game. At that point he was like F--- it yea I'm gone. that's what lead to the mixed players reaction. From what I gathered A&M seemed to be in the right spot at the right time.

To sum it up the man wasn't going anywhere until Alleva stepped in. Imagine that

Hell of an update, roach. Thanks for sharing.

As far as Alleva goes, I'm done and I think LSU fans should light the fire that they want him gone. God help us if he's in charge of hiring Les' successor. We already knew he would be awful at finding a new HC but after that update, I don't want him near the situation when that time comes.
