I will never have a problem with a Coordinator leaving to take a head coaching position. That's a sign of having a good staff.

I agree with the other posters when they say its just a sign of the times with the coaching profession now.

Its getting very rare to see cases like Joe Paterno or Bobby Bowden where to coach makes a school his career.

We have not been able to hold onto a good coach since the days of Cholly Mac. And look how long has that been.

For now I will have to console myself with a video

Bad- Good-
Losing Bo Rein Stovall- Great LSU man
Losing Bill Arnsparger Archer- No HC, good man
Losing Nick Saban Hallman- LSU@her lowest
If we lose Miles Dinardo- Did LSU right

Grading coaches
Bo Rein- A (He died on a recruiting trip)
Les Miles-A Great HC at LSU (Could be the greatest in history if he stayed.
Nick Saban- A Won a NC otherwise a B.
Bill Arnsparger- B Never won a bowl game
Gerry Dinardo- B- Brought the magic back
Mike Archer- C Bad recruiting decisions
Jerry Stovall- C- What happened after 1982?
Curley Hallman- F Low IQ with an attitude. "I have been succesful everywhere I have been"- Curley (Now a 2 nd year coach at Muscle shoals HS with alosing record)

It depends on the hires we make. We could be the "U" of the 2000's if we hire well. They didn't keep coaches all that long but brought in another coach to keep it rolling. We can do that.

bad because we keep having to find replacements...head coaches who can be sucessful at the highest levels of the college game are rare....we have had two in a row now, so the odds are stacking against us finding very many more...

Disagree for these reasons:

1. Saban left for $5 Mill a year in the Pros and said, almost from the jump start, that he made a mistake leaving LSU.
Affect on LSU: Good. Showed that LSU could attract NFL type coaches.

2. If Miles leaves, it'll be to his "Mecca".
The talking heads are saying that if it wasn't UM, there's no way Miles would leave "one of the top jobs in the country".

Affect: None
