I know you all are slow in MS. I wasn't speaking of him being impressive. He's just a much better sell than Barry Lunney. We're not settling or we would have trotted out Butch, Drink, Petrino, Nutt...even Leach who extended with no raise. Also not signed yet fwiw.

Arkansas is at absolute best the 5th most attractive job in the division. Probably 6th.
not to mention a couple schools in the East are obviously better.
and then non-SEC schools from neighboring states that are also more attractive.
makes for a tough time hiring the right person.

The only way you'd beat the offer is if you went TAMU level with your contract or LK commanded such. That's one thing or AD made clear when we hired him. He doesn't like the direction there contracts are going with the huge guaranteed money whether you suck arse. He will go big, but we won't get fricked again with that shite when there's plenty of other options out there.

This. Every year you are playing 4 teams in your own division with vastly superior recruiting ability. Even if you can build up the Arkansas roster to a competitive level, your odds of a division title are less than 10% in any given year. Now that Kentucky is becoming somewhat respectable it honestly might be one of the least attractive jobs in the conference.
I'd put it behind
The Big 6, A&M, South Carolina, Kentucky in it's current form and now apparently Ole Miss.
IMO they're on par with Miss St and Missouri and only ahead of Vanderbilt.
