Answer the question why they wouldn't just end the talks?

Maybe they were ended today and the only people who know were in the meeting today.

The rest of us will find out in a week.
He could tell the team before they take the field for the egg bowl and it doesn’t matter if it leaks at that point. Then make a public announcement the next day.

Why is LSU so confident? What is your best evidence?

Stringing their conference rivals along and have them possibly miss out on other candidates.

Ole Miss fans keep saying this like they've forgotten the VAST majority of hires aren't finalized until the end of the regular season.

Kiffin can drag this out another week and we're no further along in the timeline than usual.

4. The tweet’s first line is:
Coach Kiffin and I have had many pointed and positive conversations regarding his future at Ole Miss

Basically they both agreed that Lane will coach the Egg Bowl and try to lock up a CFP spot for Ole Miss before he leaves.

I honestly feel sort of bad for Ole Miss fans, but if Lane was committed, he would've signed the extension and the AD would've shouted it from the rooftops so this circus could end. At the very least, he wouldn't have said an announcement would follow the Egg Bowl.

Yo, retard. The question is why weren’t the results of the talk made public?

He is currently only employed by 1 athletic director.

What would you expect LSU or UF to say exactly?

What does that gain for Ole Miss to keep the extension a secret?

Exactly. The timeline would have been exactly the same regardless of Keith Carter’s tweet today. Just builds more suspense so the culmination is even more impactful.

I’d say 99% of Ole Miss fans were melting down today and the majority of LSU fans have been celebrating the past 24 hours. Just wanted to know why LSU is so confident. When nothing has actually changed but a definitive end date.

The stakes are too high for trolling. The trolling angle is some small minded message board shite.

THIS. Trolling is something done by a single person or a single persons agent/rep. An AD and Chancellor of a major university being in on a something like this is unheard of and would discredit them amongst their peers academically. Its just not done.

Because Lane doesn’t talk about coaching contracts until the season is over. This your first rodeo with autism?

Never let yourself do that. The haughtiness, the pompousness, the snobbishness, the condescension, and the arrogance - those OLD Mississippi “people” truly are a despicable breed. Again, never feel sorry for those delusional fricks.

I can't speak for anyone else, I'm just having fun here.

I have no confidence in anything Kiffin does, he may come here, he may not. I just want a good hire regardless.

I don’t think they can say shite because they haven’t actually talked to Lane directly. They may have been told “this is what it takes to get lane” by sexton and just assumed because they matched what it takes they had him.

It sounds like you know he is leaving and want us to sell you so you can find any glimmer of hope in what someone would say.

College football teams are multimillion dollar corporations. You don’t bury an extension as some kind of troll.

People are retarded. There is less than zero percent chance that he signed an extension or committed to stay going forward and OM is just quietly sitting on it and saying he’ll coach one more game and go from there.

Will he be at LSU? I don’t know. But I do know that with the amount of money and people’s jobs on the line they aren’t just going to sit on something that could settle everything going forward.

All you have to do is logically draw the correct assumptions, but you have it backwards.

That announcement today by your AD was poison. The fans are pissed off, there’s rumors some of the coaches and players are pissed off.

If he was staying the whole world would know it already. The best you can hope for is he hasn’t decided or will change his mind. But all signs point to him leaving.

You are in the “bargaining” stage of grief. Don’t lose all hope. Jon Sumrall is a great coach. We call him AAC Jonny.

100%

Perhaps he hasn't actually made a decision yet, but this isn't all for funsies.

Alternatively, if he hasn't made a decision yet, all the vitriol from Ole Miss can't be helping matters any.

Seriously you’re correct. I like to have fun on here. But from a business standpoint you are spot on.

I might could see him going to Florida, but he's not staying at Ole Miss. Sorry bro.
