As soon as he saw the 3 permanent teams...he balked...LOUDLY about 9 games.

The SEC wants more money. Until that is ponies up, probably not. It's the only card they have right now for more money.

When it was revealed that they were leaning towards 3 permanent opponents, rotating the other six, he complained that it would be too unfair to Alabama.
He then pushed hard for only one permanent opponent
