I know most UT fans will not like this idea but if it comes down to the situation where Strong, Gruden, and the other top candidates won't come over. Tennessee might consider looking at Kirby Smart. I have spoken out against this idea but there is no denying that the guy is a great defensive coach who at one point or another will get picked up by someone. I would say bring him in keep Chaney to run the offense. Retain Graham and Pittman. Try and get Tee Martin and some other coaches. Just my opinion and remember this is if we are scrapping the bottom of the barrel in terms of coaches.

Mike MacIntyre has roots in the South. His dad coached at Clemson, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss before becoming the head coach at Vanderbilt in 1979. Mike attended high school in Nashville, Tennessee.
He went to Georgia Tech and after working out of football for a year, became a GA at Georgia. Had coaching stops at Tennessee-Martin, Temple, Ole Miss, and Duke. He has NFL experience too.

And he turned a 1-12 team to 10-2 in two seasons. Why isn't his name being tossed around?
Why are Charlie Strong and Kirby Smart the "hot names"? I'd take Mcyntire over them in a New York minute.
Goes for Anderson too. Utah State was legitimately good at football this year.

He is a Mormon, I would be surprised to see him consider any school outside of Utah, much less in the south with the possibility of BYU opening up in the near future.
