There's no way.

Outside shot it's the "much more expensive Mark Stoops" in Campbell. I think pulling Campbell is harder than Riley (which is why I'm worried if SW does this, he'll SUPER overpay him)

Please explain to the class what this thread is "calling first".

That Woodward has actually struck out and is scrambling, which is the crux of all your arguments. It may end up being true, or he may have an announcement lined up for Monday. We do not know shite today. No one on this board does, not even TBL and Unlucky this time around.

It’s pretty clear you are setting yourself to be the man who called Woodward a fraud before it went down. Deny it all you want, but that’s all this thread is about.

One main thing people kept referencing about Aranda was that "Scott isn't going to hire a guy with only 2 years of HC experience". Well, how can Woodward pretend to have such rigid rules as if he's been engaged in a methodical, Saban-like process?

are they actually his rules or just message board speculation?

That started last night about 11pm, hoss. This thread was made 7-8 hours later

Fraud is harsh. Woodward wields a big check book and seems to be too egotistical to lower himself to hire a DC under a former AD regime.

He went after Jimbo, got rebuffed, then went after Riley. He put all of his eggs in a "white whale" basket and when that didn't work out, it may be too late to get a quality candidate (especially at their market rate). By the time we waited on Riley Aranda and Kiffin are rumored to have locked up new deals. Napier is talking with UF (even though I still believe he would come here, the price went way up the past week).

If we don't get Aranda or Kiffin, we're into the B-/C tier. The problem is we likely won't pay them like the B-/C tier.

Could be message board speculation but it (experience) is the only reason that makes sense why we don't have Aranda lined up.

Step back and look at everything. This place is an echo chamber and it’s ALL just speculation.

Again, this is all sewn-together speculation and assumption. It may be true, or parts of it or the timeline completely false.

What's wrong with campbell if kiffin and aranda don't come?
Nothing. Campbell, IMHO, is the "no nonsense" guy who will be the next Saban once he lands at a school like LSU instead of stuck in a cornfield school like Iowa State.

If Woody brings him to LSU, it would be a great hire.

speaking of message board speculation all of this below is nothing but. You have no idea what has been going on behind the scenes. No idea who has and has not been contacted, what offers have or have not been made etc. Just because the word on TD or twitter is that we didn't line up your preferred candidate doesn't mean he wasn't contacted or might not be the coach. And just because the boards got hyped up that the LR deal was "done" and them Riley himself says he's not coming doesn't mean the AD is now in a "panic" and had all his eggs in one basket.

The issue is timing.

Like I just said in another thread, it's scarier if Riley wasn't the guy who pulled a sudden 180 last night.

That means we're giving a mega deal to...Matt Campbell? Mark Stoops? Bill O'Brien? Waiting until after the ESD for Rhule? That was the plan the entire time? That's scary as shite and much scarier than this being the "panic" option.

As usual, you’ve constructed a scenario based on zero facts but filled with message board and social media speculation and inferences. And from there, you’ve created a logical box for Woodward that exists only in your post, not in reality.

No one who “knows” has said anything. As Jimmy put it:
quote:

Understand the state of LSU news/media at the moment. Woodward is playing this extremely close to the vest. Big boosters are in the echo chamber, even making the first noise at times, but they aren’t in the loop per se. All hush, hush. Repeated rhetoric doesn’t make it fact

Oh I have already said I'll lead the LSU fanbase in revolution if Mark Stoops is hired.

I'm not melting. I just see the tea leaves and know what's coming. THEN I'm going to melt, and MELT BIG, BABY.

I'm not melting. It's all but certain SW fricked this up.

This isn't on the level of Alleva hiring O, but it's approaching that status. People said I "melted" about O but it's the same shite as now. Same thing with our refusal to fire Miles when his philosophy was set. History has proven me very right over the past 15 years.

I am building a pyre right now in anticipation of Mark Stoops or Campbell (on a mega deal). THEN I melt (while I watch Aranda win the Big12 in year 2)

No one cares. The merry band of morons who will “revolt” exists only in your imagination. It’s message board bravado.

What you’re doing now is commonly known as “melting.” Your histrionics are tiresome.

I’m just tired of LSU having immature morons as head coaches. We’ve suffered listening to them talk at press conferences and interviews on tv for too long. We need someone that can at least speak intelligently and articulately.

I generally agree, but I still would question the ultimate value in that.

Paul Mainieri was one of the most articulate and well spoken coaches ever hired by the LSU Athletic Department and people wanted him out, and we sure didn't mind Orgeron's ignorant arse Cajun accent in 2019

You think the fanbase will accept Stoops, especially if he's not winning a lot real quick?
