That isn’t ideal at all. It would probably torpedo their playoff run and would almost certainly impact their ability to attract recruits and transfers. It would be a huge negative hit.

Some of yall are taking crazy pills.

I believe Ole Miss’ best shot of keeping him is to be patient and let him flirt. Giving him 10 days to “look around” is plenty.

I do think the deadline can be looked at by Sexton and Lane as a “Really? You’re giving ME an ultimatum” situation, but Ole Miss doesn’t have a choice if they think thy can land someone like Sumrall.

Either way, it’s a good thing for all 3 programs. Whoever misses on Lane can move on to option 2 with enough time to make a move before the transfer and recruiting cycle is DOA.

Maybe, but the downside risk is enormous for their program.

Ole Miss raised the funds to offer $15M to Lane. The Grove Collective is stocked. Ole Miss is definitely not in bad shape and anyone suggesting they should cuck to Lane is dull beyond words.

The Grove Collective has about 10M/year, if they give Lane extra 6M/year, they would have just 4M/year for NIL which is in the ballpark of State.

Lane's greedy is going to kill his win/loss record.

You’re both overrating Lane Kiffin and underrating how attractive OM will be to good candidates.

Which candidates? Kiffin built ole miss to what it is. It falls apart as soon as he’s gone.

Not sure I’m underrating him when no coach in the modern era has been able to accomplish what he’s done there….

There is little downside to letting this run through the 28th.

If he is moving on it will be out well before then. LSU and UF aren’t going to play back and forth for 10 days.
