I would like him to get Art Briles.
Pros:
High octane offense
Strong Texas recruiting connections
Given his past and his age, he probably won't get another big time HC job and could be here for years
Hiring him probably gets us Jarrett Stidham
Cons:
Recent sex scandal at Baylor
We would take a bit of a hit on PR side from the National media given the con noted above, but I don't care. He won't be the HC, player discipline will be O's job, not Briles.

Kiffin's not coming here. It's also a short term fix and we don't need to deal with that at this point.

A name I hear being thrown around the Coach O camp is soon to be ex Oregon coach Mark Helfrich. Let's hope we get Lane though.

What do you think a potential recruits parents would tell their son if they knew he would be playing for Art Briles.
It would be along the lines of "frick no you aren't playing for him!!"

True. Do we want a guy connected to a very recent, very nasty rape scandal representing LSU? The man can flat out coach offense but a rape scandal might be just a little too much.
We're not talking about a coach who got caught having a side piece. This isn't a chronic drunk. He wasn't paying recruits or taking their tests for them. His players were running around raping women and he knew about it. Just not a good look.
