Nebraska will need an up and comer, a Chad Morris type hire. The Oregon OC would be a name they should really look at. I'm not sure Nebraska has the clout to hire a proven commodity.

Ditto.

Seems the most likely route for them.

It would be Scott Frost. Pelini has a massive buyout and I'm sure that's Frost's dream job so they might be able to hold off another year with letting him go

That's insane. No wonder he basically walked into his presser and said "frick you Nebraska! I dare you to fire me!"

Holy shizz, is that for real?

For Bo Pelini's staff?

Tennessee only had to play like $9 million to buy out the Dool-Aid and his staff.

Good lord. I've heard he has a hefty buyout, but I've ignored it because that usually doesn't mean anything, but with one that steep, I'm really thinking Pelini stays

This is what coaches need to start doing -- don't negotiate a hefty salary raise after a good season, just get your buyout bumped through the roof.

It's quite literally the lone reason Kirk Ferentz hasn't been fired the last two years. His buyout alone was something north of $18 million, which equated to $300,000 a month until 2020.

According to ESPN Pelini's buyout is $7.5 million. I have a hard time believing his staff has over $17 million in buyouts.
