yet he hasnt sniffed ATL in 3 years

Remind me of who was in the BCSCG those years?

He went 10-2 in the toughest division of the toughest conference in the country without a QB. Look it's been beat to death-we could do a lot worse than LM and no one has suggested any reasonably available alternative that would be an upgrade. The more I rewatch games and watch player interviews, the less I even hate GC. I think he sucks at developing QB's, but then again, it's hard to shape a great statue out of the two lumps of clay we've had.

too much is placed on coaches' past as opposed to "how hungry" they are to succeed and abilities.
with all of that experience comes AGE and REDUCTION of "energy".. you young people think you will always have the same level of energy..not true.
...my point..Sometimes "up and coming coaches" bring a lot to the table that an old one can not...
including the relationship with players.

Keep an open mind.

Remember "WINNING CURES ALL", if whoever comes / would come, WINS..everyone will forget.
Hell if Rich R would have won at Michigan, all would be well.
as per Lou Holtz-and he is right
"When you are winning your enemies can not hurt you, when you are losing, your friends can not help you."

Bill Arnsparger. Left after a SEC championship and the cupboard was full. The subsequent hires led to the program wandering in the wilderness for a decade.

We were good when he left but nothing like we are now or when Saban left. Also many people believe Arnsbarger led to the lean years b/c he didn't like to recruit and the cupboard wasn't left full.

It's not nearly as easy to hire a good coach as you people think it is.

For real. Rather have the one we have than an unknown. Few schools are getting their first option.

UF spent $70 million on football alone last year
False.

Florida spent $105 M on their entire athletic budget last year and spent $24,457,557 on football. By comparison, LSU spent $25,566,520 on football.

Florida's revenue on football was $70 M. Big difference.

Add to that the possibility of having to replace the DC, OC, and our best recruiter....along with losing some top recruits in the process.

Which loses more top recruits, a change in coaching staff or watching the previous list of top recruits miscoached and sitting on the bench?

In the BCS era, schools that have fired the coach and hired new coaches have won every NC except Mack Brown at Texas.

If Miles leaves, the chances of LSU winning another NC in the next 5 yrs greatly increase.

In my defense, I was going based off this LINK. I was looking for the quick answer to the question about OU and too tired to look anywhere else and $70 mil of the $100 mil budget made some sense. Now I am looking at the budget and trying to figure out how we spend another $75 mil on everything but football.
