If Miles does leave, Cap 1 bowl would have been the best choice

We would probably have a coach in place by now, working on keeping the right recruits or bringing possibly their own quality recruits

I understand that every hour matters, but there was only a 6 day difference. Plus there is no way of knowing that Rich Rod would be fired on Tuesday. Speculation, but no guarantees.

Rod was getting fired, and Mich would have dicked Miles around waiting on Harbaugh. Probably would have pissed LM off enough to make him say "eff off" to them, once and for all
