Someone was listening to Finebaum...

Texas is the only job I could see Saban leaving Alabama for, now that Notre Dame has been turned around. They basically have unlimited resources there.
Matter of fact, I can't figure out for the life of me why Texas doesn't contend for the BCS Championship every year. The recruiting pool is deep, you've got great facilities, lots of money, everyone wants to live in Austin. There's no reason for that team to get curb-stomped by Oklahoma on the regular.

Do any of you think they'd call Miles?
The LHN is tricky. Not many could handle the cameras 24/7. Miles probably could.

Gary Patterson will be the next H.C. of Texas.

Sure, it would only take one year to get them back in national title contention, but I just don't think he'd be willing to lose that year. But then again, that might just be the fact that I really don't want him to.
It would be a very interesting situation, to say the least

Ballsy to say to Chicken.

Besides money, what would be the motivation for Saban/Meyer/Muschamp leaving their current jobs for Texas? Just don't see it happening...
The motivation is Texas the the most attractive job in the country. They own the recruiting in Texas, have their own network, and have great facilities. If Saban (or any of these coaches) wanted to leave, it would be for this job.

It won't happen but it doesn't hurt to make them say no.

He'd be one of my top choices, along with Petersen, Shaw, and maybe Charlie Strong

If I were the sips, my first call would be to Pete Carroll. Then, Chip Kelly. And then Shaw.

out of the top 3 saban would be most likely to take it but i doubt it. meyer and muschamp are essentially at their 'home' jobs. saban could always use a raise plus add to his legacy if he wins another one with another team in another conference. i think the browns are the only ones that turn his head though.
i always thought petrino would have been a huge success at UT but that was before he went on that joy ride. you're right...no chance there.

the only motivation i could imagine would be saban just wanting a change of scenery and a new challenge. still iffy tho. i see no motivation whatsoever with meyer or muschamp and would be incredibly shocked if they left their present gigs for any amount of money.

No. 2 on that list might be Gary Patterson.
Brown gets all the top recruits in Texas. Patterson gets 3rd or 4th level in-state recruits and then turns around and beats the top players from the state.

Damn, you must be moving up the media ladder to be getting that info. Very cool. Good for you man.

I'd love it to be Saban just to see how LHN producers would deal with his cyborg-like telegenics.

I think Mack is getting beaten down by a portion of the fanbase and might be tired enough to hang it up after this season...I heard that he has a nice gig in the broadcast booth lined up after he retires.
I always thought the plan was for him to be AD after retiring but I could also see him with a Corso type role

I think Saban stays at Bama until he retires. Hes chasing history now.
Urban Meyer just got a comparable job at his alma mater.
Muschamp is at a destination school. If he would go to Texas, it wouldnt be until after a more significant stretch , like 6-7 years. I dont see the upside for him going there.
I love Shaw and think hes a super coach. I just dont know Texas would make that hire just yet.
