That is false because Washington did not fire Lake for cause.

This DC hire would be outstanding!

There will be ZERO chance LSU tries with Lake in lieu of his recent circumstances. He does not meet the criteria of hire that Tate, Scotty and Kelly talked about.
Want a sure thing? Zero! You’ll see.

I like the DC that we have currently. Focus on the OC.

Honestly, unless you can get a guy of that ilk, I'm good with keeping Daronte. Not saying we just stand pat, but if there's no homerun upgrade that's a reasonable target, the man did good work this year. Players seem to really like him, as well.
The bigger concern, and the hire you are going to have to lay some money out for to get it right, is the offensive coordinator. Changes on that side of the ball HAVE to happen.

Would love to poach Glen Schumann from Kirby. Guy has recruited best defense I have seen in SEC since 2011 Bama D.

Why do people always suggest Leonhard?
Because they are stupid and cant help themselves. And they think it makes themselves sound knowledgeable. Dude is not leaving Wisky!
See what I mean.

Here's the pitch for Leonhard: Dave Aranda came to LSU from Wisconsin. A few years later, he's the HC at Baylor. If you produce as a coordinator at LSU, you WILL be a HC sooner rather than later. You'll male a shitload of money while you're in BR too. The only question you need to ask yourself is whether or not you can have a top SEC defense with NFL talent at every level of defense.

I’d rather upgrade at both coordinator positions

No, no it isn't. I'd rather freeze my nuts off than deal with swampass in the middle of summer.

I just read he is being paid his $9.9M buyout.
Can he accept another job? Or does it have stipulations that he can't coach during that payment period, like CEO's deal.

Just Stupid
It is. If he wants to be a head coach, and no one knows if he does down the road, he'll be HC at UW.
I don't believe he has any desire to be a HC right now. He has a young family and he wasn't hurting for money when he took the AC, then DC, jobs at UW. He has said he wants to see Wisconsin work it's way up to the top echelon and that is why he is in Madison. Not the paycheck.
He isn't leaving and money won't change his mind.
