will go down as quite possibly the most underwhelming HC hire in LSU sports history

One of the least self aware posts by an LSU fan ever.

I don't think any of these mentioned would do poorly at LSU. I just don't know the ceiling which is highly contingent on recruiting ability.

Seems it is Aranda or Campbell I think we would have more smoke if Riley was coming.

Aranda would have great defense's, would certainly have to have a really good OC to put us back up in the elite. Certainly has the foresight and experience to know what it is going to take to win at LSU. Pay would be twice what he gets now and enough left over to get almost any OC he is able to convince to come here. I think overall it would be the best move we could make at this point.

Campbell would be a good hire possibly great. He knows both sides of the ball well. Seems to be able to organize a staff well. I think he will have a lot of success if he comes out winning early, but if he stumbles even a bit climbing out of the hole will be difficult for him.

LSU recruits well almost Automatically at every position, except QB, OL and DL. Especially, QB and OL. If u are going to win big at LSU u will have to fix this.

Just for fun I’ll embarrass you. It was Miles and Orgeron. You think Miles, at the time, is any worse than Campbell?? Really?? Campbell barely has a .500 winning percentage. And O was supported by many due to his stint and record at USC. He is, even today, as he was before he was hired an Elite of the Elite recruiter. Everyone knew if he surrounded himself with good coordinators he would do very well and he absolutely did.

Look, if your pick is the HC from fricking Iowa State or Kentucky more power to you brother.

If you go after a head coach 90% of the time its going to come from a lower tier school or a non top 20 program. Urban Meyer got to Florida from Utah, we got Saban from Michigan St., etc.

Sooner or later if your going to hit a homerun its usually because you picked the right unproven guy. Riley is certainly the outlier if that is your guy. We have won 'ships with Les and CEO both could recruit but neither could run a offense. If your playing the odds we probably need to go with and offensive guy because that is where we struggle the most.

In reality we ain't winning much until we recruit better on both sides of the line and have a coach that can mentor a QB. We are fortunate to have a ton of skill players in Louisiana.

Oof, this will be good.

It was Miles and Orgeron.

Good boy

He’s .620, and has built a good program and culture.
That’s why he’s always mentioned with big openings and NFL openings.

Miles was .560 and hired 1 year after LSU wan the NC…it was absurdly underwhelming.

He was supported by Karen’s and weak men, like you, who ignored his entire body of work. Should we look into your post history about your support of Ed? No need, you just proved it.

When you have to surround yourself with the absolute best to be successful, you aren’t qualified to be the CEO/HC. He also proved he has no idea what to look for in an assistant. If you don’t understand that, that’s a you problem.

I don’t need a “splash” hire.

LSU NEEDS a solid coach after 2…2 underwhelming circus characters.

Napier, Campbell, Stoops, Aranda are leaps and bounds superior to Miles and Ed, they would all do fantastic at LSU.

Once again, if you don’t understand the differences in their coaching abilities vs the previous morons….that’s on you, Lady.

And, if you disagree, simply ask yourself, “Would Bama, tOSU or Clemson hire either one?” Not in a million years.

Uhh yes. Matt Campbell has been offered NFL head coaching jobs and has actually been on quite a few major program short lists and turned them down.

I’d bet him and Fickell would be the two guys OSU would go after if Day left.

People on this board are really showing how little they know about college football. Matt Campbell is a great coach and one of the brightest young guys in the sport.

I would be OK with Campbell. Stoops.....IDK, I'm just not a fan of any of the Stoops. The crapshow that Bob had the last couple years at OU with his brother as DC was pathetic.

Campbell has kept ISU in the mix of the Big12 and considering them and Iowa are going after the same recruits in that state, and we know he isn't getting the talent that OU and UT get. So I'd be good with Campbell.

Since you’re obviously slow, I’ll make it as simple as I can, son.

Matt Campbell since 2016:

3-9
8-5
8-5
7-6
9-3
6-4
41-32

If this is your man, enjoy him, clown!
