Statistically that statement doesn't mean shite.

Since the CFP era started every single national championship winner and opponent had consistently top 10 recruiting classes.

Nobody outside of a top 10 recruiting class has won.

It means everything. Otherwise we are getting Wisconsin and Iowa results.

That's a pretty big gamble lol. I do think he would figure the whole recruiting thing out maybe not in his first year, but surely eventually.

Stop.

This is the SEC.

It’s mostly about recruiting.

LSU does have a major advantage in recruiting being that we’re the only major college in the state. Great coaches put people around them to help their shortcomings, I have plenty of faith that Aranda is smart enough to put people on staff that are great coaches and recruiters. He’s already got a past relationship with guys like Corey Raymond and Mickey Jo who are both great recruiters, I’d be willing to bet they’re both retained if Aranda is the call (Raymond was staying no matter the coach IMO)

I’m sick of chasing entitled 5*s. Dads on the radio, opting out, making business decisions.

Give me solid fundamentals and scheme with guys who really want to play for LSU.

I understand what you are saying but I want the best players out there. Entitlyor not. What I AM saying is we will get the best out of these guys no matter what stars are. Dave’s scheme is the reason.

Nothing else…

Lol give me a team full of blue chippers to face your team full of high character 3*s every day of the week. You may beat me some times, but I promise i will win more championships than you.

Good points.

But that’s on the HC.

A strong leader can keep it together.

I guarantee Dave would have high recruiting classes. It will come with the territory. But he will also change 3 stars to 4 stars and 4 stars to five.

I promise one can give more examples of teams full of 5 and 4 stars beating teams full of three stars than you can give of the opposite

He’s coached in the SEC for years. He knows the caliber of players needed to compete and which players he can get (better than Baylor). He knows how to get them even if he didn’t do it from a head coaching standpoint. He knows what he has to do and he will do it or he won’t accept a job where he’s expected to do it.

Aranda was able to field a top defense at Wisconsin, a top D at LSU and a top 20 scoring defense at Baylor.

Apparently he's able to recruit well enough to have a top defense at every stop.

Hell, most coaches could damn near have a top 10 class just in Louisiana players. Orgeron, the supposed guru, had at least 1 class out of the top10 and still won a championship.
