1. Because its Memphis and not LSU
2. Friends are often blinded about the truth
3. and my number one Reason PORTER wants what is best for LSU and he is willing to take one for the team!

No. If Stud stays and keeps his OL role, then Les has made a serious misjudgment. LSU will pay for it next season.

This is an angle people seem to not be thinking. The only place I've seen the Studs to Memphis OC talk, especially with regards to making a "huge offer" and "upping the ante" if footballscoop_dot_com. THat place is an utter joke because they get an email from anyone and post it up there.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is being disseminated out by some in the coaching staff to try and get more interest into Studs to get rid of him. It may make some other yokels misjudge his worth and abilities like Miles did.

It's a theory, and I doubt Miles is that intelligent, but look at the success of all his assistants after they "leave" LSU, Pelini is the only successful one to date, all others have been epic failures:

Mallory = Fail
Peveto = Fail
Lane = no one even wanted him

Pelini = boom/success, but he was a finalist for the NU job before leaving there for OU.
Monken = good/but WRs at Jacksonville haven't been impressive to be honest.

Crowton = no one seems to be wanting him
Studs = same

All others were inherited from Saban's staff on the offensive sides of the ball.

The line was slightly above average in 2007. People forget we took 30 sacks against us in 2007.

It wasn't like Studs did some amazing job. I am not sure though if Hitt and Stewart had switched over to the OL before that year in practice though.

I still do not think he is as bad of a coach as people think. He got shafted this year, when our battering ram fullback left. Add the cuts and attrition (not to mention oline players kicked of the team). COmbine that with a green qb and it was not looking good. In 07 we had a GREAT oline. And the last couple games the oline looked much better.

To rational. The flute players will never buy this.

you forgot about todd monken.He was with Miles even back at okie state hes done pretty good.

I dont think stud is a great coach but i dont think hes absoulutely terrible. As someone else said the line has progressed throughout this year. Also in his first year 2007 the line tore it up all season. It was the same line that stacy searles had and couldnt do jack crap with.

OL really hasn't progressed at all, despite what people say. They've had shitty games all season with a few sprinkled in here and there. No pattern to them at all outside of one half against UGA, the Auburn game, and the Bama game. They've been crap every other game this season.

Stud would be a nice coach for Memphis, but LSU can and should do better. And Miles should know a good OL coach when he sees one. Makes me scratch my head about Miles (as I am prone to do).

maximus, man you don't think highly of PJ by making your last post huh? By the way, one thing I am certain of, you were not even good enough to play middle school ball.

Isn't it possible that Miles is a great coach, but suffered through attrition.

Isn't it possible that Crowton is a great coach, but suffered through attrition.

Couldn't you say this about those two also? That both of them would look much better without the attrition?
