I want to thank coach O for staying with LSU, promoting the School, and keeping things together. Yes, It was time for him to go, but most coaches would have bailed out. He stayed, recruited, and coached and he never said a bad thing about LSU. I respect and appreciate how he handled himself and how represented LSU after he was fired. I know he got paid a shrimpboat load of money in his buy-out, but he would have got paid, whether he stayed or left once fired. Geaux Tigers!

Absolutely agree. I was going to do something like this earlier this morning and got distracted.
He got to live his dream and will always be the head coach of the greatest team in LSU history. He helped to bring the Heisman trophy back to Baton Rouge. 2019 - What an amazing ride!!

Agreed
He was imperfect in many ways but handled this difficult situation w total class
Not an easy thing to do
I would have probably been way more petty about it
He gave us 2019 and moved on w the program still on relatively stable footing
Win win

Interim O is the best O, honestly that fact that he was already on his way out helped him get the troops fired up to play one last time and take down A&M and take Bama down to the wire
This season couldve been a much worse shiteshow, but he helped the team stay fairly locked in.
Also it is going to be great to be able to troll aggie all summer

He is the American dream personified. An underdog just looking for shot at redemption who reaches the pinnacle of success then retires with a boatload of money and a harem of women that would make an Arab Sheik blush!!!

He was better once it was stated he was not returning!

Agreed and I think he was rewarded with a great win against A&M to close out his tenure. Things could have gotten ugly for LSU, but he chose the high road and everyone should be appreciative of that.

Hear, hear.
I hope he ends up staying involved with the program, but in some NON-COACHING capacity, like recruiting coordinator or something. But right now that is likely the farthest thing from his mind. Enjoy your decompression time, Coach O - you've earned it.

Man some of you are sick in the head.
Yeah give a shout out to the program destroyer. What fricking world is this?

I mean he took over a program that was stuck in the past and known as a place where offensive talent was hidden by boring schemes, took it to seasons of 9-4, 10-3 and 15-0 and changed the perception of LSU into a top destination for offensive football.
The last two years weren’t great, but remember he lost more after 2019 than any program in history (and had to rebuild in a COVID year with no offseason program). The past 2 years have shown that this is currently a flawed team but there’s a ton of young talent on the roster and a great recruiting pipeline.
And I do think that him accepting the transition gracefully has been great for LSU. Sure some players transferred and some recruits have been on the fence, but a program firing its coach usually loses a whole lot more.

Still love the guy, yes needed to bounce, but he got his childhood wish and had THE best CFB season ever. No one can take it away from him.

He was also facing investigations that were indirectly and directly linked to him. Regardless if O could have turned it around over time, Woodward did what was best for us and him. Win/Win IMO.

He gave up coaching after winning the NC to chase young women. We are paying the man 5 years salary for shittie coaching or laying on the beach in Destin.
Screw Zero and his white trash arse!

I was never a fan of the hire, but he conducted himself with honor and stayed engaged and motivated when he could have mailed it in. I think he’s told more than a few fibs while here, but I do believe he loves LSU.
(now watch him go to Bama and negative recruit against us
