That would be so hilarious - I might not survive it. I'm having trouble suppressing the giggles that the very thought of this is causing.

Yeah, that's why so many LSU fans are on this board salivating and going through bottles and bottles of Jergens at the prospect of saban leaving.

That has little to do with LSU and a lot to do with watching Gumps piss and moan.

His actions right now are to find out his market value, that's tough to do by signing the first contract laid on your desk

Granted the SEC title number mostly due to his shorter tenure

8 NC's in 12 years would make a strong argument IMO

Anything more than 12, and they can have him. We can hire Jimbo and keep the train going.

Genro, Saban will never pass Bear Bryant in number of SEC Titles won. Saban has 4 (including the two at LSU). How many does the bear have?

Absolutely true. There's way too much parity in the SEC (even just the SEC West) for Saban to have the kind of in-conference dominance that Bryant did. It simply won't happen.

Do like Jamarcus Russell did.

Take the money and fricking run.

I didn't mean to suggest it isn't entertaining. OIR has been just plain, old fashioned fun (still is, for now).

However, one of the schools involved has A LOT more at stake than the other. And that school's primary color is crimson.

It has everything to do with LSU. They want us to share in their misery. They want to know they arent the only one he never loved. Plus, he owns them. On the field and in recruiting.

He might not pass Spurrier either. I believe he has six.

Exactly. What would they do, cry and ask him to give it back?

Ok.

What if Bama inexplicably says "We just gave you an extension less than a year ago, we just gave you another that you won't sign, and all you've done is lose the Iron Bowl."

People forget this. Bama is a machine right now. There are 10-12 coaches that could keep that Goliath running.

Sustaining success is not easy. However, actually having some new blood come in and take over at its peak, to me, ensures it's longevity.

I don't need to tell you what team to look to as an example

Yeah, because I hate Texas, too. Not a Bama/Ole Miss level hate, but 1969 isn't forgotten in my family.

Bastards.

We are the pinnacle of college football at the moment. We could hire a lot of people to come in and keep it at the level les has been in BR. If UT doesnt make the right hire here they enter ND/Michigan/USC territory.

True as well. There's more parity in the SEC now than even when Spurrier was there, running a train on everyone.

Winning the SEC is now harder than winning the National Title. I concede. And it's only gonna get worse with the playoff.

He's been c@%k-blocking us from getting to Atlanta and the BCS for the past 2 years and cost us one BCS Championship outright.
