They need to get rid of either Gruden or Jaws. They fulfill the same role.

What are you, fricking twelve? I'll go slow, so you understand, champ.

Analysts don't need to run their yaps the entire fricking game. I'm not saying there should be awkward gaps of silence, but there doesn't need to be all of the extra fricking nonsense those guys spout to make themselves sound informed, either. A little moderation would be nice, especially with two other guys in the booth.

Jaws
i used to love him when he spent 7 minutes breaking down 1 play per week and showed the intricacies of the entire play. the more they show him and his opinions, the more i wanna kick him into a wood chipper

I can't put my figure it out. It's hard to put my finger on it but essentially, he's annoying. He's whiney and he's said things that I thought were pretty silly or asinine. There are specific examples but I just can't think of them at the moment like I can with Davie or Mussberger.

His style, his pompous arse attitude, the fact that he's often clearly wrong about calls in the game...a combination of factors.

That would be one specific example. Sometimes he get's a little preachy on me. But some of that comes from NBC Night in America.

i can see how people find him a bit abrasive

im going to have to disagree with you on this one. i find hes often dead on with whats going on. i love his perspective. he says things others dont want to b/c its not 100% PC or nice-- but most people at home at thinking the same thing- so he says it. contrary to the thread on the rant a couple weeks ago, i think hes completely unbiased and calls it like he sees it

This is pretty frickin ignorant. I mean I hate Collinsworth as much as the next guy, but the guy is awesome at calling a game. I think Gruden's pretty great too.

You're entitled to your fricking idiotic opinion. Collinsworth is still a hack.

I am fine with Gruden, or would be if he would stop saying "this guy" every other sentence. Jaws is fine too, but I wish he would stop saying this play or that is an "athletic" play. No shite, Sherlock, the player is an athlete playing a sport. They're pretty much all athletic plays unless you fall on your face.

How can you claim to know anything/have any interest in football, and say the guy's a hack? He knows his shite, he's insightful...he's the lead analyst on one of the most watched NFL games of the week.

Is he a pompous, Florida dick head? Yeah, but he knows football.

Colinsworth comes off like an annoying uncle who laughs at his own jokes, I don't like his style. However he does spot stuff, that's what I want from a colour guy, good analysis, he's growing on me.

I didn't start the insults, only responded to them.

You guys have your opinion of Collinsworth and Gruden, I have mine.
