He also proved that he wasn’t a good coach without those coordinators. You have to be able to keep those coordinators around with that model. That’s not easy, unless you’re Dabo.

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility. He's a meticulously detailed guy (supposedly) who had all the management abilities Gus lacked.
BUT, he doesn't deserve it, and I think that's the rub. If we struck out with 3-4 guys and thought "why not Steele" then that'd probably be ok. But trying to push him into the job from the jump is just so sketchy.
