This was the way it was done before coaches started bold face lying...

He tells his agent, "Tell them I will not discuss this until after the game and if they don't want the same thing to happen as last time they may want to respect this....BUT I AM VERY VERY INTERESTED!!"

Agent makes a phone call, sends a fax, text or email conveying les' wishes and viola " I have not be contacted by Michigan" coupled with "I love it here at LSU"

Honest, respectful to team and current duties as coach yet effective!

Stand outside and watch for the bright, growing light in the sky. They will contact you at the right time.

Plus, he has never said his agent hasn't been contacted and is talking to them.
Simple question for Les from a reporter should be " Have you ever worked at Arthur Murry?, Cause you are the best dancer I have ever encountered!

Why don't reporters just ask if their agent has been contacted by UM? I'd love to Miles try to figure words to get around that question.

He has not said he is not interested.

He has not said he would not listen if contacted.

From what the OP said he told the team, was that he had not been contacted but would let them know if he had been.

He has never said he was not interested.

How could he not be even just a little interested?? Granted, he's got a great team and situation down at LSU. Realistically our prestige has dropped a bit over the last few years, and it might take a few years to get things going, but he played here, he coached here, he has said he loves it here. Doesn't make it a lock he will come here, but, he has to at least be thinking in some way if DB is contacting me this is probably my last shot to take this job, I have the opportunity to bring my school back to national prominence.
Or he could tell us to go f*** ourselves. I don't really know, but I have to believe hes at least a little interested.

I think this is how Miles feels because he is not Michigan's first choice.

Can't say I blame him, especially if he was truly dicked around back in 07. Then this go around as well. While, I like Harbaugh and think hes a great coach, Miles definitely has a better track record than him. Hes proven in an extremely difficult conference. With his resume, I wouldn't be happy about being second choice either.

Different AD then. He's going to hold it against his alma mater and not attribute any hard feelings toward the person in question rather than the school?

Miles is quick to get on the media for spreading rumors and false reports, yet he won't get up in front of them and tell them what he told the team. If Les wants this to go away all he needs to do is go to the media and tell them "I'm staying at LSU". But he isn't. He either likes taking the media for a joyride or he talking out of both sides of his mouth

Better yet, just ask him straight up. Will you be the coach at LSU next fall, yes or no? or Will you be coaching another team besides LSU next fall?

Any coach not solid will dance around that, but if you asked Joe Paterno he would say he will be coaching Penn State (unless fired/retired). If you asked Bobby Bowden he would say he will be coaching Florida State (unless fired/retired)

Its a pretty simple question, the media just cant get right. If the coach dances and says I love it here, or I havent talked with Michigan or Im not speaking with Michigan etc. etc. Then ask him again and remind him that he never answered the question. Will you be the HC at LSU next fall, yes or no?

Who knows. Also, if we are to believe Michigan is in contact with him this time around, it's clear he's second choice... I'd imagine that wouldn't sit well with him either considering his record compared to JH's.
