I have a new theory about Riley/Stoops

Riley to LSU
…and Stoops back to OU,
…or vice versa (Riley stays at OU and Stoops to LSU)
*this is just a thoery* and Just my guess from reading the tea leaves. I think OU making the playoff could derail Riley to LSU so Woody has to have a PlanB in place which I’m sure he does.
My total guess on the planB candidate is Bob Stoops, as crazy as it sounds. And if Riley does go to LSU, you will see Stoops back at OU.
I think Riley is working with Stoops to ensure Oklahoma isn’t left stranded, regardless how it plays out. And that Garrett Riley (Lincoln’s brother) will be Stoops’ OC at either OU or LSU
I think all the Jimbo chatter is intentional.
*take my opinion with a grain of salt though, I’m just trying to have fun and put the pieces together like everyone else

I wouldn’t go that far, but I do agree that I have major concerns about a possible Stoops hire.
I’d definitely take him over O’Brien though.

Why is this board constantly bringing up Bob Stoops?
That is not someone that will build LSU into a constant contender for the next five to ten years

Would definitely have concerns about whether he could keep us getting Top5 classes regularly. Florida/Mullen is seeing that being good/okay/decent at recruiting paired with a supposedly good Xs and Os coach doesn’t cut it in keeping up with Bama and UGA

If Stoops is interested in returning to coaching I would think he would be high on the Iowa Hawkeye list. It’s his alma mater and with KF being 66 and the allegations and ensuing court issues he/they may be ready to let him ride off into the sunset.

Don’t know if I believe them, but two different people (one I consider”connected”) have told me the LSU has reached out to Bob Stoops. I would hope it would only be to discuss Riley but I guess you never know. That said, it would be a disappointment for me if LSU somehow wound up with him as coach. Ditto for Fisher.

I admire what Mark has done at Uk, he is clearly a solid coach, I just don’t this his offensive philosophy and track record is what we want
