I don't blame Petrino for heading to Fayetteville

Atlanta is a franchise that is and has been in disarray. That city itself has so many ugly racial divisions over the Mike Vick issue. Apparently, Fayetteville is a nice little SEC town, and Arkansas has really nice and underrated facilities. I don't know if they can compete with LSU, UF, UGA, Tenn, Bama, and Auburn on an annual basis, but he should be able to get any of the talent that Arkansas produces (like Darren McFadden).

It would have provided him with the opportunity to build a team from scratch, ala Jimmy Johnson.

If Vick were still the QB, Petrino would still be there IMO. They would have won a few more games.

It's not that he went to Arkansas that has everyone upset, it how he left. He phoned it in and left a letter for his players. He stranded a staff of people that don't know if they will have jobs next year. He is a coward and a selfish prick that only thinks about what is best for himself. If W.Dunn comes out and blast you, than you must have done someone wrong because that guy is a class act.

That kid may never even see the field for USC. Sanchez is gonna start there for the next 2 years.

Any team that depends on a felon to keep is a float is no place for a serious coach to start a professional career. Atlanta got what they deserved.

How did Atlanta know that Vick was gonna commit a felony?

It was when the Smiths owned it. Blank is willing to put the money in it though.

Nope. I'd say 95% of people could care less about Vick.

In order for Arkansas to be successful, they will have to recruit well in Memphis and Texas. There just ism't enough in-state talent for them to be competetive every year.

What Arkansas needs is skill players in the QB and WR positions.... we could not recruit well in that area due to Nutt's philosophy on offense.

I think Petrino can help a bit there...

Good article about how the hiring of Petrino unfolded.
