Pretty sure he at least entertained the UF job enough for them to offer him a contract.
He did what they all do. He just let hang out there long enough to scare Ole Miss into the extension and more money. Then they say I never talked to anyone and never considered it. It's the classic tactic in the 21st century of honoring but not honoring the contract they signed.

There probably was some communication, but neither Foley nor any of his reps would ever throw out a monetary offer without an interview or knowing if he would accept it. Foley shot that story down right away, he doesn't do that too often unless the story is absolutely false.
It was a feeler offer.
The official amount/offer would take place in a sit-down interview. That interview never took place obv. Had it taken place, Freeze would be @ UF.
FWIW I'm sensing some Gator fan bitterness in going after him. There should be no shame in UF going after Freeze - he fit all of Foley's criteria (offensive, recruiting, etc).

There is no bitterness, I just don't believe there was ever anything serious with Freeze. The timeline would suggest he was our #1 target and I think that is highly unlikely.
