Somewhere in the 7.0 to 7.5 million range, I believe.

There was no 'official' offer as Mack Brown has not yet resigned.

This was a rumor from back in 2011. Pat Forde went on a twitter rant about it a few days ago.

I found it:

So latest rumor is Saban 10 years, $100 million to Texas? I found that mentioned on Twitter Nov. 21 ... of 2011. Remain Calm, Carry On.

@YahooForde 10 Dec
Note the date RT @UTSMC 21 Nov 11 RUMOR: Nick Saban to Texas for 10 years $100 million. Anyone else hear this?

I appreciate it, JBeam. I try to keep the atmosphere light-hearted and not take anything too seriously, except for the PoliBoard. That's a whole 'nother animal than football.

It was reported by some site a month or two ago that Saban was on the cusp of signing a $7.2 million contract. My gut tells me that number was accurate.

I think the common denominator for reasonable fans is that we are all fricked up on something or another.

I just want Texas to go ahead and hire someone, so we don't have to deal with this rumor every year.

I have little doubt that the rumor mill will begin to churn again next year if they keep Brown.

In all honesty, that is ridiculous.

I think that is the amount Payton makes with the Saints per year.

I remember it was a big deal we paid Saban 1.2 in 2000.

Crazy!!

Why? The return on investment will far exceed his salary. I had you pegged as a free-market guy, Wild Thang.

Yep. If you're too stoned, or are unwilling to become that deeply invested in the whole thing, you're usually pretty easy to get along with.

I'm not hating on the market per say.

Make your money when you can. And if you earn it, more power to you.

I'm just saying it was a huge deal in BR we paid Saban 1.2 million in 2000.

He now makes as much as Sean Payton.

It's crazy
