...than hiring someone like Jimbo? I mean are we really going to be saving money at the end of this? How high will the buyout be for a top flight OC if he doesn't work out? I really don't understand how this is any better than paying Jimbo 6.5 mil or Herman 6. Can someone explain this to me?

I hope it all works out. I just thought that people were saying O made more sense because of the "economics", but i dont see this as any more economical, tbh.

It's not. It makes literally no sense.

Did he? I thought the narrative was he countered and LSU didn't accept it. I don't know the details, obviously, but would it really be more costly than what we're gearing up for?

There are more than two coaches in college football.

Jimbo just kept going up. 6.5 wasn't enough. You still have to hire coordinators after that. Arranda still wouldn't be free

The number was apparently well north of $6.5mm for Jimbo...for one good reason.

We will save a little money, but I think this is also about taking a different strategy.

You don't really need a HC that can do it all. If CEO can recruit and manage the team as a whole, he can let the OC and DC do their thing. Basically we are trying to bring in an offensive version of Aranda.

Yeah i get that, but seems like an awful lot of "ifs" to make this whole thing work. Just makes me nervous. Hopefully i am wrong and we are awesome on offense and Aranda keeps being Aranda.

At the end of the day, LSU's staff is much better by removing Les and Cam. They were YUGE roadblocks.

If O can recruit big uglies, the other athletes will come.
