Hypothetically, lets assume that Melvin Gordon runs for over 250 yards (very possible) and Wisconsin beats Ohio State in the range of 35-14. Could Urban finally be ready to move on from Luke Fickell as D Coordinator? If that were to happen, does Meyer go after Pelini? Pelini is from Ohio and played for Ohio St. I would love for this to happen. Ive been ready for the Luke Fickell show to be over for quite some time. There just hasnt been enough improvement on the D side of the ball. Thoughts?

Meyer would fire a guy who only gave up 250 to Gordon for a guy who gave up 400? Interesting move.

You are kidding yourself if you think Luke Fickell is a better D Coordinator than Pelini. Ohio St is a different team with much better talent. Fickell hasnt been getting the best out of that talent.

Is Fickell's defense really that bad?

Pelini's D had a bunch of trouble stopping the run...at least vs Arkansas 2007. Maybe because DL injuries but that's honestly all I can remember of the man.

Boy, if they added Boseph to Urban, Ohio would have the market cornered on assholes.

Pelini is a great DC. That would be a great duo.

It's not that its bad, its just not great. We have great talent that just isnt progressing like it should under Fickell. Ohio St has just been kind of blah in my opinion. I know many Ohio St fans have been done with Fickell for quite some time. I think with Pelini out there, it would be a good time to make an upgrade.

Pelini's scheme is perfect for the Big 12 or the NFL. Very good against the pass.

However, it's not good against the run.

Y'all can do better.

Why would a guy who won 75% of his games as a HC downgrade to being a DC??

Because he's plutonium and no one wants him to come in and hire his druggy brother to run a shitty defense.

Oh, and this.

LINK

The better question is, who the frick would want him?

Pelini ran a lot of zone schemes at LSU. The Arkansas game was the exception. But we got torched in the air quite a few times under him. Run d was always solid. I def rate chavis over him. He would for sure have better athletes at Ohio state. I think guys like him and muschamp are suited for DC because of the intensity. Just not as a head coach.

I've wanted Pelini as tOSU DC every time there were rumblings of his Nebraska departure. I would love the hire.
