You have no idea what's going on with Herman. Post less.
I know that he has been given the largest G5 contract ever with incentives that could make him a top 10 highest paid coach.
I know that South Carolina desperately wants him
I know that he wants the Texas job
Guess what? South Carolina isnt a top 25 job. It isnt his goal
Why do you think you are so desirable?

Alabama
Auburn
Arkansas
A&M
LSU
Florida
Georgia
Tennessee
Ole Miss
Clemson
Florida State
Ohio State
Michigan
Penn State
Wisconsin
Nebraska
Baylor
Oklahoma
TCU
Texas
USC
Oregon
UCLA
Cal
Stanford
Washington
Notre Dame
You could make an argument that the following jobs are just as good if not better than South Carolina:
Missouri
Miami
NC State
North Carolina
Virginia Tech
Virginia
Michigan State
Iowa
Maryland
TCU
Kansas State
West Virginia
Oklahoma State
Utah
Arizona
Arizona State
South Carolina has made huge strides the last decade under Spurrier, but historically that program is comparable to Mississippi State or an Oregon State. Pretty forgettable. This is a program that won it's first bowl game in 1995. You were coming off of 0-11 and 1-10 showings at the turn of the millennium and will always, always be second fiddle to big bro Clemson in that state. South Carolina is not and will never be a "destination job". Your best bet would be to either hire and up and coming coordinator or an older, proven coach who would like to make Columbia his last stop. Any coach with eventual championship aspirations would view SC as nothing more than a stepping stone
tldr; you're delusional

What was the score when y'all played for the conference title in Atlanta?
I'll wait. And wait. And wait. And wait.....

Herman is only 40, there's no rush to take a job like South Carolina which would be a losing proposition for him. Florida and Tennessee are on the upswing, and their instate rival is rolling.
Not to mention he would be following the most successful coach in program history so fan expectations are probably unrealistic.
He should pass on USCe IMO.

I have no dog in the hunt and I don't think South Carolina is a very attractive job
Always trying to be 3rd or 4th in the east
They will never be Georgia, Florida or Tennessee. Will always battle Mizzou for 4th string

Word is the offer on the table as of now is 4.3 mill.
ETA: I have no dog in this fight, but Herman has a good thing going and returns his entire team next year. If I were him I would hold out for a top tier job and not go to a decent school that needs an overhaul. Nothing against USCe. Just not a top 20 job and if he's patient he could have a top 5/10.

Ole Miss has won more bowl games than South Carolina has played in all together. Enjoy Skip Holtz

Ole Miss hasn't beat SC this decade or ever been to a SECCG....

Ole Miss hasn't played South Carolina this decade, moron. Congratulations on that 2010 season. The best thing that's ever happened in the history of your program. What a dogfight the East was in '10. Best division in all of football and I have a hard time believing anyone will rival it for many moons to come
#22 South Carolina 9-5 (5-3)
Florida 8-5 (4-4)
Georgia 6-7 (3-5)
Tennessee 6-7 (3-5)

By offering Herman this new contract, UH is trying to force his hand. If Herman agrees to it, he is staying there. If he says something like not wanting talk about a contract before the end of the season, then he is leaving. By offering him this contract, his hand is forced. The next reporter to see him will ask him if he is going to sign the new contract. His answer will tell you what he is going to do

A decade is a 10 year period. We've beaten y'all twice in the past 10 years, y'all's last win was in 2004 (Bush Jr era.) Enjoy being stupid.
...and if you ever see Dustin Johnson, tell him I want my fricking baseball bat back.

Great news for us, sorry not sorry to UH.

Yeah but Garcia was the quarterback and I have no problem at all conceding those wins to him.

So, Herman is too good for the USC job, because it sucks.
But if Herman takes the job, he'll leave soon to go somewhere else.
If he takes the job and stays, what's the next excuse?
Still not convinced he's coming here, but just curious. For a program that hasn't achieved much, a lot of y'all really seem concerned about it.
