I may be crazy but I think Nutt would do a good job there. I know all the knocks against him but the fact remains that he can inject some temporary life into a program. It may be short lived but the honeymoon period could be ok for him and USF.

This is pretty much were I'm at. The guy is a bit nuts(no punn intended), but the truth is the most successful guy in USF's history (Leavitt) was a certifiable lunatic. It's easy to get hung up on Nutt's time at Ole Miss which was a disaster by all measures but lets be honest thats been the case for most Ole Miss Coaches. His record at Arky was pretty solid.

I dont think USF will ever see a long term appointment as a head football Coach as long as they are in the Big East. Any Coach is a 3-5 year commitment depending on how successful they are. Also consider the caliber of Coaches he'll be competing against in the BE. His SEC time would probably make him the most experienced and winningest Coach in the Big East Conference(sadly...).

He's not my first choice, but I'd be indifferent to the hire. I'd honestly prefer Arky's more recently exiled Coach (Petrino) over Nutt. I dont think Petrino fits USF's culture and I dont think Petrino's ego would allow him to Coach in the BE though.

Given my preference I'd want Butch Davis due to his Florida ties but he's too high profile for USF.

The implosion has already occured at USF. Skip managed to win only 3 games this season including the programs first and only loss to an FCS school. I believe any new USF Coach will stand a pretty good chance of bettering Skip's record in just their first season.
