If Florida still had Zook as HC...do you think they'd take Spurrier back?? Those of you using the reason of "jilted" need to rethink this...

What. That's exactly what happened and they hired Urban Meyer. And won a national championship. They were progressive. LSU would be living in the past.

You replied to me, but I don't feel "jilted" at all. I've never been mad at him for leaving or even going to Bama. My point is just that that part of all of our lives is over and we all need to move on.

Spurrier removed HIS name from that coaching position...NOT Florida...he was most certainky considered. Regardless, I used that as an example. Saban is much younger...and i'd hardly consider a coach that was here 3 years ago "a thing of the past".

ok no body hated saban for leaving when he did. they hated him when he went to bama...he didnt leave here and go directly to bama! he made a mistake and just wanted to get back into college. what, he wasnt supposed to get the best job out there because all the lsu fans would be mad at him!? come on! Another thing, what are all you people who are hating on saban right now gonna say if he comes here and wins a national title in 2 years! Im sure you will be right back on the bandwagon. You should be LSU fans and support the coach whoever he is if he is winning.

I'd have my reservations, but after a few more National Championships, I think I would be okay.

he had better talent than spurrier and did LESS and people are all over his nuts and think spurrier is over the hill?

move up and move on, there are other great candidates available to bring in to the fold here at LSU

Exactly...i never even technically answered the question...but if didn't want him back it would be due to his inability to dominate. His inability to beat Florida, Auburn, and Bama in the same season.
His ABILITY to lose to teams like UAB, ULM, State, Ole Miss.
However, i would NEVER base it on him leaving LSU. He left on good terms. How he returned to the SEC should have no weigt on the situation. And even though no one used the exact term "jilted"...thats how these PUSSIES are acting. I'm not saying I want Saban...but I do want the best available candidate.

Well said! I truly believe if the position was open for HC @ LSU last year, Saban would have come back in a heartbeat. He is a great coach - and a great recruiter.
