Phil Bennett turned down the DC job at Baylor.
Another friend of mine will be interviewing in Fort Collins for a job with Steve Fairchild and the Colorado St. University. Steve got the recommendation from a former LSU OL coach and a former LSU football player( Now coaching in the Pros).
Steve has a good resume and will do well at Colorado St.:
Buffalo Bills - Offensive Coordinator (2006-07)
St. Louis Rams - Offensive Coordinator (2004-05)
St. Louis Rams - Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks (2003)
Buffalo Bills - Running Backs (2001-02)

I really don't know what to think of this hire by the AGGIES.
I have a lukewarm opinion of Herring based upon the results I've seen in the SEC. He hates to recruit, but at least he attacks the O.
With really good talent he does fairly well. However, great passing teams tend to carve his D up especially early in the season.
We'll see

You're right there. I do kind of like him though just because he's old school. Political correctness is not his forte.

I agree, this is his BEST quality as a FB coach

Who knows??? With all of the hype, I thought we'd get a pretty good DC. I didn't think we'd get a position coach from Tenner.
I am concerned about defense and recruiting. BP needs a better hire than this would have been imho
