That Jimbo was set, ready to sign to be the next HC at LSU last year....then King stepped in over ruled Alleva and we watched the disaster on TV together.

No one saw that LSU would pull the plug on Jimbo, but that's what happened.

it's been confirmed many times, what part of this equation do you not understand relative to DALSU being wrong?

Sure, a done deal isn't done until it's signed

but someone said, the official contracts are not signed many time weeks after the coach has already started working for the new university... the lawyers have to get it tight? I don't know, I would think when when 40 million is on the line, the contact details are signed "before employment"..

Like I mentioned last week, a 30 on 30 show should be produced "how to hire a coach from another school"

"Hunting Jimbo"

"Stealing Herman"

followed by "how to properly fire a coach"

Use Miles or Strong as your title

"firing Miles"

How?

Rummy, are there any temporary amendments we can put in place for guys just coming in and posting these baseless opinions and posting them as facts?

Can we get like a 24 hour ban or something?

He never was right about anything that required inside info. In fact, whenever he made claims that would require inside knowledge, he was wrong.

I'm just some dude who has no connections but here's my fear if we don't get Herman: Aranda joins him at Texas.

People cite one side of the coin in that having Aranda here already will help us draw Herman, but if Herman does go to Texas you'd have to believe he'd target Aranda, right?

Then we're left with CEO Orgeron looking for a new OC and DC just before signing day.

We are on the precipice of really messing this thing up...

Why do you people keep saying that "we would mess this up"? What exactly has Alleva done that would mess anything up? And if it does wind-up playing out like you mention, then it would be a shitty set of circumstances, but it wouldn't necessarily indicate that someone "messed up".

And there's also a chance of landing a homerun hire in Herman.

I guess some people don't enjoy looking on that side of the aisle either.

Again, WAY too much smoke about all of this. LSU isn't leaking these stories. I FIRMLY believe the people who leaked this we're guys that knew LSU was in Houston yesterday and it got back to Austin and boosters trying to force an admins hand. An admin that doesn't even know what they want to do right now.

I don't care which of you is right... but please let one of you be right. It would suck to go through all this and end up with a plan B guy.

God damn it we aren't stuck with Coach O as a 3rd option.

Coach O isn't even on any one's top 10 list in college football

My thoughts exactly. Since we're LSU, I figure we are about to get screwed. As a fan base, we have to all hope and pray Texas can beat TCU and Charlie Strong can keeis job.

Hope I'm wrong but it looks like this is where it is headed...

I really really hope Texas decides to retain strong.

Well I have an undergraduate and a graduate degree from LSU, and I am pretty high up in management where I work, so as far as I'm concerned, I am somebody.

That's obviously because he doesn't know anything.

No it wasn't Alleva who fricked it up, instead it was F King and Bobby Jindal who fricked it up.

Lots of catastrophizing on this board.

Consider this:

1.The better part of the last decade we as LSU fans have been committed to coaching that refuses to change /adapt. It was the equivalent of college football "groundhog" day. This was the default mode (a disaster in itself softened by the pathetic resignation to the lowered expectations of complacency) that most accepted...

Make no mistake, that is/was the disaster...

2.Current worst case scenario is that O is retained and an OC is brought in. This is not my preferred option, but it would still improve my outlook on the football program compared to the last few years.

3.Best case scenario is that we make a great hire.

If chaos were to reign (as it relates to O):

You have no vision.

If we miss Fisher and Herman we should Reaux the Beauxt with Fleck before even half considering O.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with this "O 3rd option" talk.

October 5: "Coach O will lose to Saban plus drop another game and the luster he has right now will quickly fade... Herman will go to Texas and we'll land Jimbo..."

I stand by that statement.
