This threads thought process:
Step 1) Look up what coaches have winning records this season.
Step 2) Write names down as potential coaching candidates for LSU.
Step 3)Remove all logic, reasoning, and factual support for names listed to in fact actually coach at LSU
Step 4) Avoid at all costs researching if any similar threads already exists on the board.
Step 5) Say "frick it" and post thread to the board anyway.

That is exactly what idiots like you deserve.

I think this guy is a hell of a coach, but he isn't leaving Seattle. He has a chance to turn a historical mid-tier program into a major player and he's in a great location. He isn't going anywhere for a while.
Washington isn't a "mid-tier program". They were comparable to LSU up to 2000. In fact they were 13th in total wins through 2000. LSU was 14th at the time. Washington went to complete shite. LSU realized its potential.
UW has the history, fan support, and money to be a major player again. How soon we forget Don James there.

Christ Peterson is not coming to LSU. Petrino will not be LSUs next HC. There's a decent chance we won't get Herman either.
There's a better chance that LSUs next head coach will not be any of these three than there is that I would be one of these three.
The only one that has a chance is Herman, and that chance is getting slimmer.

Petrino
The guy can win football games no doubt about it, but his buyout is too big and if Bertman has any influence still at LSU then no way Petrino has a shot at being HC. Just so much baggage surrounding him and Bertman's distain of him just don't think Petrino truly has a shot even though he would probably be the right SOB to take on Saban year in year out. One thing you know for sure is Petrino isn't afraid of playing Saban every year.

Why is everyone so sure Herman is so set on UT? I know about his connections there and what a few assistants have said, but those assistants seem to be speculating just as much as anyone.
I'm trying not to wear my purple and gold glasses here--i think recruiting is so much better without the in state competition TX faces. I also think LSU doesnt require much tweaking to be a contender, UT is much more of a rebuild.
I also wouldn't be surprised if UT loses site of things a bit, spending a lot of its time going after Saban and Meyer fruitlessly.
Of course, a lot of people would rather spend their time in Austin than BR, but coaches don't even have a lot of time like that. I get that it's a better job, but a lot of coaches probably see them as comparable.

You realize they would have to actually be interested, right? LSU may not want to hire anyone but those three, but they will have to hire someone else because they have a 0% chance at those three guys.
