Houston doesn't have a Top 10 team nor have they this year. Their ranking was nothing more than a product of an UPSET of Oklahoma this year and an UPSET win of Florida State the previous year. Herman's teams beat these two Top 10 recruiting teams with below 50 recruiting class talent. The Houston team is a mix of nothing more than one or two 4/5 star players mixed in with a bunch of 2/3 star players. This in it self should tell folks just how good of a coach Herman is. He's gotten these kids to play well above their talent level on most occasions, however at the end of the day these are still mostly 2/3 star players that even with the slightest amount of adversity could possibly crumble (Navy and SMU.) Hell, add in an injury or two and the star ratings really start to drop with who's playing on the field. Houston should have never sniffed the Top 10...the team is not a Top 10 team, however their coach is absolutely one of the best. Whoever ends up with Herman long term is in for a great ride.

With that said, I'll take Jimbo or Herman. Either one WILL put a National Championship trophy in the case for us.

Does anyone truly believe Coach O would have accomplished the same things at Houston as Herman has over the last two seasons given the same talent?

I think Herman and Jimbo would do fantastic here regardless of their styles.

It was weird watching their small DB's come up and make open field tackles on Lamar, was not expecting that. Except those two drives in the 3rd quarter though, not sure what happened there.

I agree. Herman is a great motivator and schemes great game plans in big games. He's the coach we need to dethrone Saban and put him into retirement.
