You are missing the point.
When Gilbert was contacted and asked to bring his guy along, that was it. We did not communicate with him further. Didnt even try to accommodate.
That was the extent of LSUs attempt. We did not try.

The only hope for next year is that Brennan is way beyond his years.
RB group is the worst I can remember

If you had watched Brennan practice as much as I have, you would wonder why in the hell Etling started at all.
He is tough, and he is a tiger sure enough.
But Brennan makes the throws we have all been longing for since Mett. The short to intermediate passes down the middle are no problem for him.
Its his show unless lowell surpasses him and I dont see it.
Talking with staff, its nothing but good things.

What type of offense is Ensminger expected to run?

Brennan has the potential to be great. The problem is that you can’t just depend on him to carry the entire offense by himself with absolutely no skill players to support him. Unfortunately, that most likely will be the case. I can’t remember the last time LSU had a completely new running back core.

Expect some Cam Cameron. The jet sweep wont be going anywhere. The great thing aboit Steve is that he is willing to adapt.
None of this matters. Steves reluctance to take the job is concerning in that Orgeron will likely try to take over.

The. Why the wait?
Orgeron loyalty?

The wait is all Orgeron. That was the main source of frustration. During the florida game, Canada wanted to place Brennan in the game while we were up 17-3 to change the pace amd throw them off.
We didnt. And they caught up and we lucked out on the missed XP.
Many LSU fans fail to realize how smart Canada is. He was itching to use Brennans package all year.

By the by, putting Brennan in the last few minutes of the Bama game was basically a "frick you" to Canada.

so does 0 know that he's in deep shite next year?

Orgeron saying hope and pray is not coach speak. This is his true outlook.

Seems like anyone paying attention to LSU football over the last 10 years knows that LSU’s main problem has been inability to develop QB’s. My concern is that this issue hasn’t been addressed. What are they going to do to address this?

Brennan has raw talent. Hopefully something can be done.

Right, but hope won’t get you far when you’ve just fired your QB coach and replaced him with the TE coach and a WR coach
Do they bring someone else in you think?

So, just how much money did it take to convince SE that he really did want to be OC?
Posted on 1/9/18 at 4:16 am to Tigers58
Im not included in the circle that knows the pay for the new OC. If it were me I would give him Canadas salary.

Oh man I hope you are wrong. Not only is Steve not qualified to be OC, paying him anything over 600k should be a felony.
He should literally be the 14th highest paid OC in the SEC

Im not arguing his coaching skills. The man will be placed into a position he didnt ask for, not at his fault, but because of the stubborness of the acting head coach.
To drive Canada away for 1.7 mill and pay Ensminger far less is a direct slap in the face to him and does not reflect well on the already broken Administration.
